Stevie Leonard was born July 30, 1996 in Santa Clarita, California—Hollywood’s backyard—to award winning sound mixer Ray Leonard and mother extraordinaire Alice Leonard. Growing up surrounded by stories both on-screen and off, Stevie developed an early love for storytelling, with a particular fancy for all things science fiction and fantasy.

In high school, he joined the student television network, which led him to the filmmaking program at College of the Canyons. After completing the program (and a part-time stint at PetSmart, where he built on his love for animals), he continued his studies at California State University, Northridge, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Screenwriting. It was there that the foundation for his debut novel, Falling Skies, finally locked into place.

When he isn’t writing, Stevie can usually be found hiking, driving through the canyons, riding his electric scooter along the coast, in the seats of the cinema—or hanging out with his pet skunk. In late 2025, he wrapped up Falling Skies and is now taking the next steps in bringing the story to the world.

“Life isn’t easy. If it is, you’re not doing it right.”

“Even a small light—if it’s bright enough—can tear through the darkness.”
